Basic Approach

The Yokowo Group strives to be a company that local communities can proudly say, “We’re glad Yokowo is part of our town.”
We promote a variety of initiatives as a member of the community through dialogue and engagement, addressing regional development and social challenges.

Governance Structure

Under the Sustainability Committee framework, the SCI Division is responsible for driving the Group’s community engagement activities.
Initiatives related to community issues and progress on KPI targets are reviewed by the Sustainability Committee and reported to the Board of Directors.

Major Initiatives

Visit by Vietnamese IT Companies to Tomioka Plant

In September 2024, as part of a new initiative to foster digital industries in Gunma Prefecture and strengthen economic ties with Vietnam, three Vietnamese IT companies—FPT, VMO, and NTQ—visited our Tomioka Plant. The visit included a tour of the manufacturing site and active discussions on DX and GX challenges, as well as potential technical support from Vietnamese firms.
Particularly, the dialogue on IT talent development and collaborative projects highlighted opportunities to leverage mutual strengths, marking an important step toward future cooperation.

YOKOWO Scholarship Foundation

Established in May 2023, the Yokowo Scholarship Foundation aims to foster talent that can contribute to society and support research in science, engineering, and medical fields.
In FY2024, we provided non-repayable scholarships to seven university and graduate students and granted research funding to Tohoku University for medical studies. We will continue to contribute to community development and scientific advancement through scholarships and research grants.
